Turkey Seeks Diplomatic Gains After Risky Libya Military Intervention

Turkey is trying to receive strategic benefits from its military achievement in Libya. Ongoing additions by Turkish-upheld powers of the Libyan Government of National Accord (GNA) are improving Ankara's impact in Libya and with the European Union.

Turkey sent military staff to Libya in January to help the Tripoli-based GNA. It had been under supported assault from powers drove by Libyan General Khalif Haftar, who has a force base in eastern Libya. Haftar's Libyan National Army (LNA) has the support of nations, for example, the United Arab Emirates, Egypt, and Russia.

The Turkish military arrangement to Libya, broadly observed as a bet by President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, ended up being a distinct advantage in the common war.
